FREE TAX PREPARATION AVAILABLE!

TAX-AIDE, sponsored by AARP and the Internal Revenue Service will provide low and moderate income taxpayers, primarily age 60 and over, with quality assistance in filing their personal income taxes at AMCCU’s 6715 Green Bay Road location by appointment. Appointments are available on Tuesdays during the tax season from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. beginning 2-7-2012 through 04-10-2012. Electronic filing also available. Taxpayers may schedule appointments by calling AMCCU at 262-697-3700 beginning 1-12-2012.

Taxpayers should bring tax forms received in the mail, previous year’s (2010) tax returns, proof of 2011 income, Social Security and SSI record. For Wisconsin Homestead filing, taxpayers should bring 2011 real estate tax bill or Certificate of Rent form signed by their Landlord. Homestead maximum income is $24,680. AMCCU is helping the residents of Peace Home, Inc. – During the month of January 2012, employees of AMCCU will have the opportunity to be “Casual for a Cause” each Friday for a contribution to Peace Home, Inc.

Located in Racine, Wisconsin, Peace Home, is a not-for-profit transitional living home for adolescent young men between the ages of 13 – 18 and is the brainchild of Robert and Sealeaner Harmon, long-time members of AMCCU. Residents of Peace Home learn independent living skills while focusing on education, family, and community involvement.

Donation jars will be available at all AMCCU locations for those interested in making a contribution to Peace Home, Inc.
