TaShawn is a Financial Service Generalist at the Uptown Branch was awarded the “Fisherperson of the Quarter” award for the second quarter of 2005. FISH! is a philosophy that encourages employees to excel in member satisfaction, creating a WOW member experience.

Employees are nominated by their peers for actions that demonstrate this philosophy by service that is above and beyond normal job requirements, whether applied to member or employee interactions. An internal committee of peers chooses the “Fisherperson of the Quarter” award from those employees nominated during the previous quarter and CEO Don Gillespie awards the recipient with a certificate and a special FISH! polo shirt.

TaShawn was chosen for being “in the moment” for our member who was almost a victim of an Internet sales scam. TaShawn recalled recent training information, scrutinized the member’s check, reviewed Uptown’s “scam board,” called the number on the check, and determined that it was bogus! Fortunately, the member hadn’t sent out the merchandise and wasn’t out any money. Congratulations TaShawn!
