Working Harder for Working People Award - March 2007
Michelle V., Financial Service Generalist at the Racine Branch, received the Working Harder for Working People Award in March 2007. This award is a way for individual staff members to recognize and thank their co-workers for activities on the job, however small, which go above and beyond and are helpful, kind or noteworthy. These acts are ones that exemplify AM Community Credit Union’s values:
- Making a positive difference in the lives of our members and the communities we serve;
- A high standard of service;
- Mutual loyalty in all of our relationships; and
- Sound financial stewardship.
Any act of helping or kindness on the job towards a member or co-worker that goes above and beyond the call of duty may be nominated for the Working Harder for Working People Award.
Michelle was chosen to receive this award by a committee of her peers for making a positive difference in the life of an AMCCU member. Michelle was working in the drive through when a car pulled into lane three. The person in the passenger seat tried to pass herself off as the member, but Michelle knew better. First she asked the car to pull over to lane one. Once in lane one, Michelle and her co-workers were able to verify that the person in the car was certainly not the member, and so Michelle did not complete the transaction. Michelle kept the card and called the member, who wasn’t even aware that her card was missing. Michelle made a positive difference in the life of our member by trusting her instincts and knowing her members!
