Each Friday during the month of August, AM Community Credit Union employees will have the opportunity to be “Casual for a Cause” and dress down for a contribution to The Shalom Center. The Shalom Center, established in 1982 provides food, shelter, and support to those in need. A part of the Emergency Services Network and a larger “continuum of care” for those who are economically disadvantaged or experiencing homelessness in the community, the center works with city and county government, faith organizations and other independent agencies to avoid duplication of services and to make the best use of community resources. As a United Way Member Agency, the center also relies on the generosity of individuals, businesses and organizations for donations of money, supplies and volunteers to keep the many programs the center provides in place.
